Edinburgh-based Blockchain Technology Partners (BTP) declared the availability of DAML combination with the Amazon Quantum Ledger Database (Amazon QLDB) that is commercially approved by BTP’s Sextant for DAML on its blog.

Business Technology Partners is a leading enterprise blockchain. It brings blockchain and smart contracts to businesses by offering the Sextant platform. On the other hand, Digital Asset supports companies across the industries, both small and big, to get distributed applications to market quicker and stay there longer.

Amazon QLDB is the 3rd platform commercially approved by Sextant for DAML. Amazon QLDB is a wholly managed ledger database that gives an immutable, transparent, and cryptographically verifiable transaction log on AWS (Amazon Web Services). It is also the second AWS service that Blockchain Technology Partners combined with DAML. The integration is ideal for consumers who require an immutable ledger without decentralization.

“There are plenty of scenarios where there is a trusted centralized operator or a natural authority, but there is still a requirement to ensure data is not tampered with,” stated Kevin O’Donnell, Co-founder, and CTO of BTP. “DAML on Amazon QLDB addresses these use cases combining the expressive power of DAML with the resilience of AWS.”

DAML is an open-source smart contract language for business developed by Digital Asset for multi-party processes. It abstracts away the complexities of distributed ledgers, blockchains, and conventional databases by enabling developers to concentrate on the business logic of the applications while providing clients both application portability and deployment flexibility.

“Businesses need to stay nimble to compete and thrive while also maintaining high standards of security and auditability. BTP’s Sextant for DAML with QLDB makes it seamless to run distributed applications without the operational overhead or to compromise security,” added Shaul Kfir, co-founder and CTO of Digital Asset.

Meantime, in September, AWS declared the general accessibility of Amazon QLDB. Amazon QLDB is an entirely managed service that presents an immutable, transparent, and cryptographically verifiable transaction log held by a central trusted authority.
