Crixtover Edwin is a modern interdisciplinary visual artist born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. she is mainly self-taught in her area of expertise. Her works of visible art honor black people, black love, women of color, and popular culture. As a result, they spark the discussions that are so desperately needed in the space where emotional connection and creative expression meet cultural identity.

Her visual interpretations are inspired by eras, movements, and events concerning women of color and pop culture topics. While her case, which examines the beauty found in people from all over the world, has its roots in depictions of African culture. Crixtover typically celebrates black culture, love, and lifestyle by creating nearly photorealistic portraits, which reawakens an appreciation for black people’s accomplishments. This point was the outcome of my investigation. Because Edwin was investigating new collectors’ mediums and putting her art on a chain in the context of a new developing renaissance such as web3, she began her career as an artist by experimenting in the nft space. In March of 2021, she released her initial nft. Foundation was her preferred platform, and she chose it for the following reasons: at the time, she was a 1/1 artist, and Foundation was a marketplace where she could find works of comparable quality to mine.

He has a few favorites from the Old Renaissance as well as from this new period, including the following: Frank Morrison, Basquiat, Alpay Efe, Kehinde Wiley, Bart Cooper, and Wak Williams. Even though they each have their distinct artistic styles, their works share several common themes, including the exploration of visual emotions, power, excellence, unapologetic beauty, body language, and detail. Anthony Azekwoh and NkJuls are her two favorite musicians because she cannot pick a single favorite and must share the title. She believes that what distinguishes their styles is the way they both tend to play with texture and visual emotions while keeping the subject’s narrative in focus; it’s a beautiful perspective on art that she appreciates as an artist, which is why she can relate to their style. She and NkJuls had been an artist professionally before she enrolled in NFTS. she believes that the primary reason she registered in NFTS was that she realized that it was an open source for her art to become readily available to a new audience that loves art, as opposed to her collectors in Web2, who are accustomed to the traditional format of art. The first country that comes to mind is Greece. Due to the contrast between its tranquil environment, safe islands, amazing people, and high standard of living, the location is ideal for any creative individual who desires to have a clear mind and be inspired by the symphony of existence.

Experimentation was a crucial step in the process that led to her discovery. Still, she feels that her desire to continually improve and create work accessible to a broad audience was the driving force behind the development of her style. she is known for her semi-realistic style of art. A job that began as a hobby eventually led her to become a graphic designer. she finally became serious about establishing her reputation, taking her work seriously, and turning professional. People responded positively to this approach, so she has continued to work in this manner while investigating alternative perspectives. she can only assert that consistent practice has contributed to the development of her paintings to this point.

It has been a pretty amazing journey, but one evident narrative she would say about her art style is that once she found a purpose for why Edwin wanted to do the kind of art she currently does, which was celebrating people of color and black excellence, that set the pace for her current style. It was once she discovered a cause for why Edwin wanted to make the sort of work she now performs that promotes people of color and black brilliance. All she can tell us is a lot is coming in the future; she envisions her work at Sotheby’s, on Time Square billboards, a collab with significant companies, her art in museums, and enjoying life important, knowing entirely well he’s influenced a lot of new artists with her message.

If she had to choose just one regret, Edwin would say that she pursued a career in art sooner rather than spend five years of her life earning a degree she would not ultimately use. One of the most critical lessons she took away from that encounter, in light of where she is now, was that life progresses in cycles. Under any circumstances, one should never let oneself become preoccupied with past experiences, as these are never accurate indicators of the future for one’s aspirations.
