Ripple has secured $500 million in new financing at a valuation of $40 billion, marking one of its largest capital infusions to date. The funding round, led by Fortress Investment Group and Citadel Securities, follows a year of accelerated institutional adoption and rapid expansion of the company’s payments and stablecoin operations. Other investors also participated in the transaction.

The announcement coincides with Ripple’s Swell 2025 conference, where executives highlighted the company’s strongest financial performance to date. The investment comes shortly after Ripple completed a $1 billion tender offer at the same valuation, signaling consistent investor confidence in its balance sheet and long-term outlook.

Ripple Payments Volume Exceeds $95 Billion

According to Ripple’s press release, the latest funding points to expanding demand for its suite of services across payments, custody, prime brokerage, and stablecoin solutions. Ripple Payments, the company’s core network, has now processed over $95 billion in total transaction volume. The firm attributed the increase to rising institutional use of faster and lower-cost cross-border payment infrastructure.

Both XRP and Ripple’s regulated stablecoin, RLUSD, have major roles in the system’s liquidity and settlement processes. The company stated that these tokens have become the first in the United States to hold a stablecoin margin, offering structured liquidity for institutional clients.

RLUSD Adoption and Institutional Growth

Ripple reported that its stablecoin, RLUSD, surpassed $1 billion in market capitalization less than a year after launch. The move, the firm added, is accelerating institutional adoption of regulated stablecoins for treasury and collateral purposes. The company has continued to enhance infrastructure around the token to meet growing market demand.

Acquisitions Strengthen Custody and Treasury Management

In addition to organic growth, Ripple has adopted an active acquisition strategy to solidify its position across key financial segments. Over the past two years, the firm completed six acquisitions, including two valued at over $1 billion. These purchases expanded Ripple’s capabilities in payment processing, digital asset custody, and treasury management.

The firm said the combination of new capital, rising transaction volume, and growing institutional use of RLUSD places it in a strong position to continue scaling its global operations.
