Samsung has finally teamed up with bitcoin (BTC) functionality on their blockchain-enabled smartphones.   This initiative comes months after the latest Galaxy S10 range was released back in March this year, which included a “Blockchain Keystore”. It allowed transaction for Ethereum (ETH) and other ERC-20 tokens, and offered storage for cryptocurrency.   The South-Korea based tech behemoth has now finally added bitcoin feathers to the developer update (SDK), in a wide range of S10 models (S10, S10 5G, S10+, and S10e), as well as a few Note10 range smartphones.  The SDK kit enables Android phones and devices to link their blockchain addresses to the Keystore, check the Keystore status and sign crypto transactions.  Currently, these blockchain features are only available in selective jurisdictions, such as South Korea, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, the U.K and the U.S.  The SDK updates also added support for the native cryptocurrency called “klay”. It is a part of the Klaytn blockchain network and was released by the Korean messenger app giant Kakao not long ago. Kakao’s blockchain support consortium GroundX hinted at launching a wallet for klay called Klip in the last week. They also disclosed their first decentralized app (DApp) partners.   As reported earlier on Blockchain Magazine, Samsung lists 17 DApps, 13 of which were released last week.    They are now creating its own blockchain based on the Ethereum network. The company has suggested that it might eventually release its own listed token soon.
