Among the NFT collections that sell the most, a few items could become the mythos-defining features of each group. These do not, however, always get the maximum price on the open market. Occasionally, they feature one of the most coveted attributes in the NFT universe: rarity. Tools are one of the most reliable applications for rapidly locating the rarest NFTs in any collection. In generative PFP NFTs, the unique pieces are created at random. They exhibit the most uncommon combination of characteristics in each group. If you’ve ever been curious about the best NFT collections, you don’t need to look further. How? with the assistance of rarity. We’ve compiled a list to spare you the hassle of opening a million tabs in your browser.

CryptoPunks

At first glance, this may appear to be the perfect Cryptopunk representation of the average Berlin nightclub patron. However, it is much more than that. With a mind-boggling rarity score of 10342.68, this CryptoPunk is unquestionably the rarest. Its rarity is not due to any particular unusual characteristic it exhibits. It is the only CryptoPunk out of 10,000 to possess these seven qualities. In addition, it is one of only 78 CryptoPunks with buck teeth and one of 115 with a top hat.

Bored Ape Yacht Club

This specific Bored Ape has a rarity score of 333.86 thanks to the presence of multiple highly desirable qualities. These are motivated mainly by the dagger in its mouth, a trait shared by just 48 other bored apes. In conjunction with its cybernetic eye and cross earring, the Bored Ape is a genuinely unique and franchise-worthy character.

CloneX

Even though clone #4941 is a human, the most common type of CloneX, its clothes make it a very unusual NFT. It has two unique characteristics: a skull helmet and a red-on-black varsity jacket. With these two characteristics, this unique CloneX NFT stands out among a collection of 20,000, justifying its rarity score of 4537.75.

Azuki

Even though most Azuki NFTs are flashy and try to combine streetwear fashion with anime aesthetics, the rarest one is a surprising new take on a long-standing Japanese cultural archetype: a Shinto priest. It is one of only eight bald Azuki in the 10,000-piece collection and the only one with five characteristics. Overall, this results in a score of 11096.50 for rarity.

Moonbirds

Moonbirds may have been one of the essential NFT collections in 2022. Its cute look and broad appeal made it very popular. However, the owl at the top of this flock of 10,000 digital owls appears more like a classic creepypasta than anything else. It is one of just six glitch Moonbird NFTs in the whole collection, and it is one of only four Moonbirds with the Legendary Guardian feather characteristic, giving it a rarity score of 6578.47. Doodles Why is gold such a desirable commodity? Generally, it is a limited, difficult-to-harvest material with extensive practical applications. Imagine the rarity of a gold extraterrestrial, of all things, if it exists. Well, it does, in a way. Within the Doodles NFT collection, at least. Enter Doodle #2912. It is the only doodle out of 10,000 with a gold extraterrestrial from head to toe and a gold backdrop. This whole combination of unique characteristics results in a rarity score of 14546.06.

DeGods

In 2022, DeGods had a redemption arc that was the first in the young NFT scene. We now know what the company’s founder, Frank, looks like. But what about the most uncommon DeGod? This is good number 2885. It is one of just 53 DeGods in the 10,000-piece collection with four characteristics and only 25 with Medusa’s signature snake-like hair. Due to these criteria, it has the highest rarity score of 473.14.
